Meet the founder
I’m Lynda Chick, RN (she/they) the founder of Pranawave Community Healing. My friends call me Chickpea, and you can too.
My journey has been a winding one but has always been guided by the North Star of service and seeking. While taking care of others, I also learned how to take care of myself, especially how to put my own oxygen mask on first!
I began my nursing career in 2001 and worked for nearly a decade as an Oncology Nurse at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. People wondered how I could work with people with cancer. “Isn’t that depressing,” they’d ask.
What I witnessed, however, was a beautiful range of human experience – love, laughter, tenderness, courage, grief, and gratitude. I learned about the sweetness of life, how to squeeze the juice out of a day, and about the sacred journey of death and dying.
My nursing work has continued in hospital and community settings in my local community -- at the bedside, in Case Management, and in leadership. As a Case Manager I have seen how complex and confusing the healthcare and insurance systems can be. I loved this work because I learned how to guide and assist people through the maze of our healthcare system.
I’ve always been driven by curiosity. I continue to seek a deeper understanding of the nature of healing and well-being. Deep dives, trainings, and certifications in Shamanic Breathwork, yoga, meditation, Homeopathy, and dance have not only shaped my work but have been pivotal in my personal healing journey.
I’m deeply grateful to all my teachers, particularly Linda Star Wolf, Yoli Maya Yeh, Pablo Jimenez, and Brad Waites.
My sacred offering is to walk with you and your loved ones during your most vulnerable moments. I’m here to offer my experience, presence, and unwavering support.
